About our CSA

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a farming model in which consumers purchase food directly from the farmers who grow it.  In the spring, CSA members pay in advance for a share of the food to be grown during the upcoming season. This money helps farmers buy seed, organic fertilizers, equipment, and other supplies for the year.  Members share in the bounty of productive seasons, as well as sharing the risk of less abundant years.

By investing in our farm each year, you help ensure the ongoing presence of our local farm in the community, and become connected with your food.  Below are some details about our CSA shares:095

  • The types of fruits, vegetables and herbs we grow are selected by our growing region, seasonality, diversity,  and popularity.
  • There will be variation in the content of CSA boxes across the season. The early and late season boxes tend to be lighter and “fuller” while the mid-season boxes tend to be heavier. The spring is heavy on the greens:  spinach, cabbage, peas, and lettuce.  Mid-summer boxes burst with tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, green beans, and basil.  Again, what we harvest is highly dependent on the year and the weather.
  • We recommend supplementing our CSA share with other items such as fruits or other favorites from the farmer’s market or local grocery store
  • Our Season runs from June to October (15-20 weeks).  Due to uncontrollable forces in nature, our proposed start dates may vary up to 1-3 weeks.
